Vacuum Coffee Maker Explained

Vacuum coffee maker was very popular at the beginning of the 20th century, before the paper filter was publicly available. As the beer method makes it quite different from the traditional coffee maker. It is still used widely in Europe and the Scandinavian countries, where many people think it is much better than machinery or thawing coffee maker.

Vacuum coffee maker create a strong cup of coffee, with a clear crisp taste and virtually no sediment. They consist of two separate units. an upper and lower the pot, which is sealed with a plug.

To brew a cup of coffee with a vacuum coffee maker is less pot filled with water and placed over the heating element until the water has almost reached a boiling point. Now top pot is filled with coffee and placed on top and sealed with a plug. Pressure in the pot from the heated water is lower will cause the water to rise to the top of the pot, and therefore blend with coffee grounds.

Coffee can then be submitted to the bridge for the requested amount of time, usually between three and four minutes depending on the desired strength, and then the pot should be removed from the heat. Cooling of water creates a vacuum in the low pot.

When removed from the heat, the two devices can be distinguished and coffee served with lower pot. The biggest advantage of using vacuum coffee maker is the taste. With this method, none of the oil and taste of coffee is lost as they are brewed together in vacuum, versus is brewed by water level thawing by basics, such as in a traditional coffee maker.
